Disabled Student Support Database

Home : Screenshots : Licence : Links : Support

This project is intended to simplify the task of providing support to disabled students at a university. It was originally started in order to address a need at Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) in England. SHU has a growing number of disabled students, each of which needs a different type of support. Deaf students often need sign language interpreters and/or note-takers, others may need personal assistants, etc.

The project will produce a timetable which keeps track of when students need support, when support workers are available (many support workers are students who work between lectures), etc. It will also provide a mechanism for assigning support, warning of conflicts, etc.

As the project is initially intended for use at SHU, the first version will be written in Microsoft Access 2000, since I have access to a copy of Access 2000, and the users at SHU have Access 2002 installed.

The project is still in beta, and the latest version can be downloaded from the SourceForge.net download page.

The project is released under a BSD licence.
